  1. Review of Team Minutes of August 14, 2002 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Long Beach, CA

 

  1. SEA-21 – Timetable for moving initiative forward.
    1. Strategy – making the case and selling it.
    2. Developing a compelling case for presentation to local, state and national elected officials.
    3. Recruit existing membership organizations with MTS ties that have access, budgets, expertise, and influence into the process.

 

  1. ICMTS Awareness update.

 

  1. TEA-21 and MPO representation. Follow-up.
    1. How best to tell the water transportation system story and the downside of not doing it.
    2. How to get MTS Representation on MPO’s.

 

  1. Legislative Update.
    1. The Lowenthal Bill in California.
    2. Other pending legislation impacting MTS.

    1. Work with MTS related organizations to develop video or “flash” presentations explaining their piece of the Marine Transportation System (see White Paper for industry sectors).
    2. Encourage industry and organizations that have ties to the MTS to link their website to the MTS site.
